● Trump: Will send a letter to trade partners in the next one to two weeks to set unilateral tax rates

U.S. President Trump stated that he plans to send letters to trade partners in the next one to two weeks to set unilateral tariff rates, in order to meet the deadline for the tariff suspension on July 9.

Trump stated that the agreement can be accepted or rejected, and it is currently unclear whether he will follow through on his promises. Trump often sets two-week deadlines, but sometimes delays or takes no action. Regarding whether to extend the deadline for reaching an agreement with the U.S. government, Trump said he is open to it but believes it is unnecessary.

● US Treasury Secretary Yellen has indicated a willingness to extend the tariff suspension period.
