The United States has been reported to suspend the sale of nuclear power plant equipment to China.

On June 8, the Trump administration recently suspended the licenses of U.S. nuclear equipment suppliers to sell products to Chinese power plants. The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued an injunction to companies suspending export licenses for nuclear power plant parts and equipment, according to four people familiar with the matter. In the past two weeks, the trade war between China and the United States has shifted from tariff negotiations to mutual supply chains, and many companies, including nuclear equipment suppliers, have been subject to sales restrictions, the report said. Dow said U.S. nuclear equipment suppliers include Westinghouse and Emerson. Westinghouse's technology is used in more than 400 nuclear reactors around the world, while Emerson provides measurement and other tools to the nuclear industry. Two sources said the ban affected hundreds of millions of dollars worth of U.S. companies' business. Reuters said it could not be sure whether the new restrictions were related to the US-China trade war, or whether they would resume and how quickly. It is reported that the U.S. Department of Commerce's export license is usually valid for four years, including the number and value of authorization. (Observer.com)
