Pump.fun seeks to raise $1 billion through token issuance or implement a revenue sharing mechanism.

According to reports, two insiders revealed that Pump.fun is seeking to raise $1 billion through an ICO and is considering sharing protocol revenue with potential token holders.

It is currently unclear how much of Pump.fun’s revenue (if any) will be allocated to the upcoming PUMP Token through the “buyback-driven utility structure,” nor is it certain whether this will include the revenue generated by the decentralized exchange PumpSwap launched earlier this year. Pump.fun has not responded to multiple requests for comments.

A person close to the founding team, who wished to remain anonymous, stated: “Some of the content may be adjusted, but our idea is to link the buyback to part of the income from the Pump. Our plan is for the token issuers participating in this public or private token issuance to unlock their tokens on the token issuance date (TGE).” According to a source, the team is currently pitching to private investors at a price of $0.004 per Token and plans to conduct a public sale within two weeks. It has been reported that part of the sale will take place on exchanges, including a certain trading platform, and an airdrop is also expected. According to a source, about 25% of the Token supply will be allocated for public sale, with another 10% for airdrops.

According to data from the platform, Pump.fun’s daily revenue peaked at over $7 million on January 23, but has since declined to around $1 million per day. Since its launch in early 2024, the platform has accumulated approximately $677 million in revenue, making it one of the most profitable startups in the crypto space.
