Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will invest $10 billion to build new data centers in North Carolina as part of its efforts to expand its artificial intelligence and cloud computing infrastructure.

The company stated in a statement that this investment is expected to strengthen the new compute-intensive workloads and help expand Amazon's capacity to support businesses built with artificial intelligence.
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein stated: "Amazon's investment is one of the largest investments in the state's history, bringing hundreds of high-paying jobs and economic development to Richmond County."
