According to CNBC, Block's payment platform Square has pioneered the real-time Bitcoin payment feature at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, allowing users to purchase goods with Bitcoin at BTC Inc.'s pop-up store via the Lighting Network. This feature is based on the previously launched "Bitcoin Conversions" tool, which allows merchants to automatically convert a portion of their sales into Bitcoin. Block plans to fully roll out this feature to all Compliance merchants in 2026.
