23 May, according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Supreme Court stated on Thursday that the Federal Rezerv (FED) is a "structurally unique quasi-private entity." For Powell, this decision somewhat clarifies his job security after a period of uncertainty, alleviating concerns about the president possibly firing Powell. This ruling allows Trump to dismiss two council members from two other independent agencies, namely Gwynne Wilcox of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Cathy Harris of the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). However, the U.S. Supreme Court stated in its ruling that "we disagree" with Wilcox and Harris's argument that their legal challenge regarding their dismissal "necessarily implies that the protection against removal for cause of Federal Rezerv Yönetim Kurulu members or other members of the Federal Open Market Committee is constitutional."
