Crypto Assets tycoon becomes a kidnapping target! Another "finger-cutting extortion" case appears in France.

Recently, Paris witnessed a kidnapping tragedy triggered by Crypto Assets wealth, where a father was abducted, and his millionaire son was forced to pay a huge ransom. This incident is as shocking as a movie plot!

Last weekend, French police rescued a man who had been kidnapped in Paris. The victim was abducted on May 2nd (Thursday) in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, and his son is a millionaire; the two run a Crypto Assets marketing company in Malta.

The kidnappers' goal is clear: they want to kidnap the father to extort the son's Crypto Assets wealth. The police stated that the ransom demanded by the kidnappers is between 5 million and 7 million euros, which is not a small amount.

What's even more cruel is that the kidnappers actually cut off one of his father's fingers in order to exert pressure. Fortunately, the police intervened in time to avoid further harm. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau praised the decisive action of the police on X.

This isn't the first time the French crypto community has been subjected to such kidnappings. In January of this year, David Balland, the co-founder of cryptocurrency company Ledger, was also kidnapped in Paris, and the kidnappers similarly cut off one of his fingers and demanded a ransom.

These events indicate that, as Crypto Assets wealth becomes increasingly popular, wealthy Crypto Assets investors in France and their families are becoming targets for kidnapping.

Currently, the police are investigating whether this case is related to previous threats, as the victim's family had received threats before. At present, these five suspects may face serious charges of kidnapping, extortion, torture, and armed robbery, and the investigation is ongoing.

This incident also reminds us that the anonymity and decentralization of Crypto Assets, while providing convenience for investors, also present opportunities for criminals. Therefore, in the pursuit of wealth, whether for individuals or businesses, we must not overlook security issues.

With the popularity of Crypto Assets, how should we balance wealth opportunities and security risks? What measures should governments and investors take to cope with this new type of criminal trend? Leave your comments in the discussion!
