The biometric encryption ID project World Network (formerly Worldcoin) has launched the “Build Latam” initiative in Latin America, allocating 1 million WLD tokens (approximately $4.8 million) to 15 regional projects to promote its iris biometrics and digital identity system. The project debuted in Argentina, where over 2.2 million residents have completed iris verification through Orb devices, making it one of the regions with the highest participation in the world. Worldcoin’s Latin America Regional Manager Martin Mazza revealed that since October of last year, the project has adopted “anonymous multi-party computation” ( AMPC ) technology to enhance data security, storing users’ biometric data in shards across databases managed by different universities. Mazza emphasized that user verification rewards are only issued in the form of WLD tokens, which grant holders network governance rights.
