Preparation work

The device used for this Bitcoin mining test is an ordinary HD7870, but its computing power is indeed much stronger than a typical HD7870. The key point is that the GUIMiner mining tool recognizes it as a Tahiti core, which is only available in the HD7900 series. Looking at GPU-Z, this card actually has as many as 1536 stream processors, while the typical Pitcairn core HD7870 only has 1280 stream processors. No wonder this Dilan graphics card has such strong computing power.

Start mining
To start mining, you must have a user-friendly and stable output mining pool. Its function is to subdivide data packets for various terminals, and it can use sophisticated algorithms to pay the corresponding amount of Bitcoin based on the proportion of the data packets calculated by the terminals. Here, I recommend the foreign BTC Guild mining pool. Although there are now many domestic mining pools, I won't make any judgments as I haven't studied them in detail. However, I remind everyone to compare the output and profit differences of various mining pools when making a selection.

If everything is set correctly, after clicking the "Start Mining" button, the graphics card will quickly enter full-speed operation mode, the temperature will rise, and the fan speed will increase. You can also monitor the status through GPU-Z or the graphics card driver. It is worth noting that since only the graphics card is running at full load, the CPU load will only be in single digits at this time, so it will absolutely not affect your lightweight applications that do not involve 3D mode, such as browsing the internet and office work. However, playing 3D games is obviously not possible.

The computational power displayed by the GUIMiner mining tool is only a theoretical value. To know the actual Bitcoin output, you need to log into the mining pool website, which is BTC Guild, to monitor your account information. It can be seen that the author's account has already earned 2.5 Bitcoins through the PPS model and has withdrawn all of it. Currently, the actual computational power for mining with HD7870 is 306MH/s, which is significantly lower than the 400MH/s speed shown by the client.
