Gate Officially Launches Soft Staking Products

Gate has officially launched its Soft Staking feature, introducing a new way for users to grow their assets. With a single click to enable supported tokens, users can automatically earn yield on their spot holdings—no lock-up required, so assets remain liquid and fully accessible at all times.

Supported Tokens

The initial supported tokens are:
BTC, ETH, GT, SOL, POL, SUI, ALGO, DOT, ATOM, AVAX, INJ, APT, ZETA, and FLR.

Yield Calculation Method

Daily yields are calculated using this formula:

• Daily Yield = Average Soft Staking Balance × Annual Percentage Rate (APR) / 365

Yield Distribution Rules

• Once the feature is activated, the system will take a snapshot of eligible token balances starting at 08:00 UTC the next day to calculate the average balance.
• Yields are distributed to users’ spot accounts the following day.
• The first yield payment is issued between 00:00 and 08:00 UTC on the day after the snapshot (the second day after activation).
• Afterward, daily yields are distributed to spot accounts, but delays are possible due to network latency or system processing.

How to Enable Soft Staking

1. Enable via Spot Account (Web)
Go to your spot account, click the soft staking button beneath the target token. When the button turns green, Soft Staking has been successfully enabled.

2. Enable via the Soft Staking Page
Access the financial management page, select Soft Staking, and click “Enable” to activate the feature.

Important Notes

1. To receive Soft Staking rewards, users must meet each token’s minimum holding requirements. There is also a maximum eligible balance for yield calculation—any amount above this cap will not earn additional rewards. For details, visit the Soft Staking page.

2. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Soft Staking may change daily. Actual rates are adjusted based on market conditions and other factors to ensure yields remain stable and competitive.

3. The initial staking yield will be distributed to the user’s spot account between 00:00 and 08:00 UTC on the day after the snapshot (the second day after activation). Subsequent staking yields will be distributed daily to spot accounts, though distribution may be delayed due to network or system factors.

4. Soft Staking is currently supported only on the Web platform.
