How to Bind an Authenticator (Web Version)
1.Gate supports both Google Authenticator and Gate Authenticator. Using Gate Authenticator as an example, you can download the app by scanning the QR code on your mobile device or visiting the download page . (If you’re viewing this page on your mobile device, scroll to the bottom to access the Gate Authenticator download guide.) After installation, open the app. Note: iOS users can search for “Gate Authenticator” in the App Store to download it directly—no overseas Apple ID required.
2.There are two ways to add an account:
2.1 Scan the QR code displayed on the Gate website.
2.2 Manually input your account name and key.
Reminder: You can find the QR code and key by clicking the [Avatar] - [Security] - [Google Authenticator] - [Turn On] as shown below.
3.Once added successfully, an 6-digit code and your account name will be displayed. The 8-digit code is your one-time verification code.
4.Enter the Google/Gate verification code in the required field, and click “Enable” to complete the binding process.
How to Bind an Authenticator (App Version)
1.Gate supports both Google Authenticator and Gate Authenticator. You can scan the QR code or tap the link to download it: [iOS Version]. After installation, open the app (using Gate Authenticator as an example).Note: iOS users can search for “Gate Authenticator” in the App Store to download it directly—no overseas Apple ID required.
2.Enter your account name and key to add an account.
(Tip: To get your key, go to the homepage of the Gate App, tap the profile icon in the upper left corner, then tap the arrow to the right of your avatar - [Security] - [Google Authenticator], and you can tap to copy the key.
3.Once added successfully, an 8-digit code and your account name will be displayed. The 8-digit code is your one-time verification code.
4.Go back to the Gate App, tap the profile icon in the upper left corner, then tap the arrow to the right of your avatar - [Security] - [Google Authenticator], and input the Google/Gate verification code. Then tap “Enable Google Authenticator” to complete the binding.
How to Unbind an Authenticator
There are two scenarios for unbinding:
1. If you can access your Google or Gate Authenticator code , unbind it yourself via [Security] on both the web and the app.
2. If you can’t access the code (e.g., phone lost or app deleted), request to unbind through either method below :
2.1 Use the security request form and submit the required information. You’ll receive a response within 1–3 business days.
2.2 Submit a support ticket or email support@gate.com explaining your situation. Please include your Gate account username and UID, registered email address, full name, city of registration, traded currencies, the phone number linked to your account, and a photo of yourself holding your ID along with a handwritten note showing your Gate account name, date of the day, and a brief description of the request.
Notes:
- The authenticator is used for login, withdrawals, password changes, and other security-related actions. If you frequently don’t receive SMS codes, we recommend enabling an authenticator.
- If your authenticator code keeps showing as incorrect, please check and sync your phone’s time settings.
