Q1: Tell us about your project - zkRace
zkRace (formerly DeRace) is both the front-running Web3 horse racing game and the world’s 1st cutting-edge zk-rollup-based infrastructure tailored for GameFi and powered by $ZERC token.
As a web3 horse racing game, zkRace closely mirrors the thrills of real-life horse racing, allowing players to race, breed, trade, and rent NFT horses, host tournaments in their hippodromes, and much more, providing an unmatched horse racing adventure.
As a state-of-art zk-rollup-based infrastructure, zkRace is crafted for all Web3 gaming needs, enabling scalability, transparency and seamlessness within GameFi projects. zkRace is more than just a game; it’s a paradigm shift in the Web3 gaming space at large.
Q2: Your project has recently been rebranded from DeRace to zkRace, what was the main reason for the rebrand?
To put it simply, we outgrew our primary vision and scope. Over the years as DeRace, we have pioneered the blockchain gaming space and constantly created innovative solutions to cover DeRace’s needs. We have completed our set roadmap not once but twice already.
To signify the broadening of our vision, DeRace has transformed into zkRace, evolving from a premier Web3 horse racing game into a comprehensive infrastructure aimed at revolutionizing GameFi. This change signifies our growth from a singular game focus to a broad-based eco equipped with cutting-edge zk-rollup technology.
As we integrated more sophisticated zk-rollup technology and expanded our offerings beyond just gaming to include foundational GameFi infrastructure, the new name, zkRace, better reflects our commitment to innovation and our role at the forefront of the GameFi revolution.
Therefore, our rebrand to zkRace signifies the expansion of our eco by rising above being just a single-game project and moving into the infrastructure category.
Q3: Following the DeRace to zkRace rebrand, your native token DERC has been swapped for ZERC. Can you tell us what has changed for your token? Any new utilities?
With the swap from DERC to ZERC, we’ve significantly enhanced the token’s security and utility.
ZERC now fully powers all in-game transactions, acts as the primary currency in our in-game marketplace, and serves as the gas fee for GameFi projects utilizing our zk-rollup-based infrastructure.
Moreover, ZERC holders gain early access to new releases within the W3Forge (studio behind zkRace) eco.
These changes not only enhance the player experience by streamlining transactions but also increase the demand and intrinsic value of ZERC within our eco.
Q4: zk-rollup technology is very big in this cycle. Can you explain how zkRace is revolutionizing GameFi by using zk-rollups?
Every blockchain game, including ours - faces the same scalability issues with user activity growth. They either need to take some parts of the game off-chain or rely on small lower-activity chains to be able to submit actions happening on the game to blockchain.
Blockchain speed compared to game’s back end is too slow to make verifications live. It becomes unreliable, exploitable, and very expensive for the players.
zkRace utilizes zk-rollup technology to address some of the most pressing issues in blockchain gaming, such as scalability, speed, and cost to the players. By aggregating multiple transactions into a single one, zk-rollups significantly reduce the gas fees and congestion typically associated with direct on-chain interaction.
This allows for real-time game interactions and a seamless player experience. Furthermore, our zk-rollup solution ensures that game data is transparent and verifiable, maintaining the integrity and fairness essential for building trust in GameFi environments. zkRace infrastructure ensures that GameFi can be both scalable, economically viable, blockchain verified and fun.
