GateCharity and PUI Geowisata's Success in Air Batu: Local Wisdom Fuels Entrepreneurship
GateCharity and PUI Geowisata Merangin Universitas Jambi recently concluded their transformative week-long initiative from November 11-17, 2023, in Air Batu Village, Merangin, Indonesia. The event, titled “Development Entrepreneurship Based on Local Resources & Local Wisdom in Air Batu Village,” was a vibrant testament to the synergies of local wisdom and sustainable development within the context of UNESCO Global Geopark Merangin.
This collaboration was set against the backdrop of Geopark Merangin’s rich cultural diversity, biodiversity, and geodiversity. The highlight was a comprehensive batik training program for the women of Air Batu Village. The “Air Batu” and “Buluh Batuah Sayak Baguno” motifs are not just designs; they are narratives of the village’s identity, its natural wealth, and its artistic aspirations.
