Q1: What is Travala and why should people use it?

Jacob: That’s a great question.

Travala.com is a champion in travel and cryptocurrency, operating as the largest online travel agency with over 3mm travel products and 90 cryptocurrency partners.

Our token, AVA, is available for trading on Gate and the GT token has been available for the checkout process on our platform for almost a year.

With the anniversary of Gate, we have partnered in a more integrated way and you’re now able to access accommodation directly from your account with their platform.

Q2: Once people get into the platform and choose their tickets or stays, what payment options can they use?

Shane: Through the mini app itself, a user is able to use the cryptocurrencies that are held directly on the Gate platform on their exchange wallet.

We partnered to create a seamless checkout experience so that trip was automatically deducted from the balance within the wallet and totally gasless.

No need to create a new account, when you’re directed through the mini app, the account is automatically applied.

Q3: Why does the travel industry need to shift to decentralized?

Shane: The online travel booking model was revolutionary over 20 years ago, but outdated in its current form. The success of disruptors such as Airbnb shows that consumers are ready to migrate to platforms that empower users but also enable a two way marketplace.

There’s been a push in that direction, but that’s a conversation for another time.

Q4: Is there any benefit for Gate users to sign up for Travala?

Shane: Well for the 9th anniversary of Gate and the partnership that we’ve created, we wanted to give users something towards their travels. When you enable the Travala account, you’re credited $25 towards a purchase of your choice

Q5: How much do you believe in the future of cryptocurrency in the travel industry?

Jacob: We believe paying for travel and other major services with crypto will be the norm in the future.

We are positioning ourselves as the go-to destination for any travel-related bookings with crypto.
