Could you please tell us what Angola is, why do you want to create it?
Jae Shin(CEO):
Web 2.0 faces challenges such as IP protection, revenue generation, privacy, counterfeits, and insufficient incentives for creators. The Angola Project is a bolt on solution, where Web2 applications just need to integrate to give Web3 features to incorporate digital assets into daily life.
Could you please introduce the unique technology of Angola? How does it protect and benefit creators?
Jae Shin(CEO):
As you know Web3 is all about having the power to own your own content. Currently many popular platforms that content creators use are Web2, meaning platform owners own a lot of the content and use it with or without the owner’s knowledge.
We at Angola integrate our blockchain wallet through SDK to traditional platforms and give the identification through the private key of the wallet, and also give the ability to mint NFTs. The NFT ownership enables Web3. With the clear ownership, the content creators can then take their content and do as they wish. We will create many services that will allow content creators to secure their own revenue.
Could you explain more about the NFT-centric eco? How can users create NFTs from non-NFT applications?
Jae Shin(CEO):
Users can use the Angola wallet integration, such as our current exclusive partner Candy Plus, also knows as Candy Camera on Android, as an example, Candy Plus integrated our Angola wallet on their application. Candy Plus has over 300 million downloads from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, with a daily active user base of 2 million and a monthly active user base of 60 million.
The structure of our partnership with clients such as Candy Plus guarantees exclusivity rights for Angola, but Angola is not tied exclusively to one place. Angola’s technology and business model can be applied to platforms where digital media including photography is the main focus. This can include integration with photo or video-based platforms to enhance scalability.
We will soon have a public SDK that allows any applications to do this. By integrating our wallet, users are now able to sign for their content with their private key. We will also have a NFT minting platform for users to mint their current content. There is much more to come.
The NFT market has grown so fast nowadays.What are the features that distinguish Angola from other platforms?
Jae Shin(CEO):
I think what distinguishes us from other platforms is that we are thinking about everyday usage of the NFTs. Especially content creators that create beautiful content that other businesses may copy and use for their benefit. We are thinking about not creating a whole new process, but rather bolt onto existing successful platforms and making them Web3.
It is hard to change behavior, so we are going with the grain and partnering with platform owners to give another incentive and benefit to integrate with us. Through our Rewards Pool, we can give incentive to platform owners and users to mint NFT or participate in the Angola Eco.
Can you please tell us a bit about AGLA token?
Jae Shin(CEO):
AGLA tokens are used as governance tokens within the Angola eco. Users can mint NFTs with a certain number of AGLA tokens, or by staking a certain number of AGLA tokens. Ultimately, users will be able to utilize the AGLA tokens to mint NFTs on Angola Eco partners apps and platforms and participate in the Angola Eco. There will be other applications in the future, such as membership or other offerings.
What stage has Angola reached now?Are all targets in accordance with the current road map? and what are the next steps that will be taken in the future?
Jae Shin(CEO):
Angola was created on May 2022, almost a year ago. Since then we have worked to prove our POC with Candy Plus. We have reached and exceeded all our expectations. We have integrated with our exclusive premier partner Candy Plus and the users will have access to the Angola wallet through the Candy plus app.
The number of Angola wallet activated has blown our minds. It is currently in the thousands, but soon will exponentially grow as swap services take hold. And that’s just a small percentage of the overall Candy Plus users. Our goal by year end is to continue to explore different industries to increase our partners in the Angola Eco.
