The cryptocurrency market has indeed been sluggish lately. However, when looking at records over the past dozen of years, Bitcoin (BTC) is recorded as the asset with the fastest growth in the history of the global market, taking only 12 years to reach a market capitalization of US$1 trillion.

It didn’t stop there—Bitcoin also took around 15 years to break through the US$2 trillion mark. This record places it far ahead of major technology companies around the world.
For comparison, Google needed about 25 years to reach US$2 trillion, Amazon nearly 30 years, and NVIDIA more than 30 years. Meanwhile, Apple and Microsoft even took more than 40 years to reach similar milestones.
Chief Risk Officer Strive Jeff Walton said that among the 20 largest global assets, Bitcoin is the fastest to reach US$1 trillion and US$2 trillion. He emphasized that this achievement was achieved without conventional corporate structures such as employees or a board of directors.
This phenomenon strengthens Bitcoin’s position as a unique and disruptive digital asset in the modern era. Going forward, this trend is predicted to continue as global adoption increases and investor interest rises.
Even so, the market turmoil is currently quite high, causing Bitcoin’s market capitalization to drop to US$1.49 trillion, citing CoinMarketCap, Tuesday (14/04).
