On April 1, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, hosted a regular press conference. A reporter asked: this March, China successively held the 2026 Annual Conference of the China Development High-Level Forum and the 2026 Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia. The media has paid high attention, believing that the two forums are important windows for observing the Chinese market. What comments does the spokesperson have on this?

Mao Ning said that the China Development High-Level Forum and the Boao Forum for Asia were held one after the other in Beijing and Hainan. The two forums released the same message: the world is unsettled, but China will always move forward steadily, working together with countries around the world for development. The outline of the China “15th Five-Year Plan” demonstrates clear strategic goals and policy directions, and sets the main objectives and major tasks for national development over the next 5 years.

China will fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, accelerate the building of a new development pattern, and focus on promoting high-quality development. China will uphold free trade, continuously deepen international cooperation, steadily expand institutional-level opening-up, jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative of high quality, promote the liberalization, facilitation of global trade and investment, and safeguard and develop an open world economy.

China will always be a cornerstone of certainty in global development and a stable harbor. (CCTV News)
