Guoguang Co., Ltd.: The company's business scope includes the manufacturing of chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
Everyday AI Express, an investor asked on the investor interaction platform: Is the company an industry leader? What strong competitors does it have?
Guoguang Co., Ltd. (002749.SZ) stated on April 8 on the investor interaction platform that the scope of the company’s business includes the manufacturing of chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The company mainly engages in the research, production, and sales of pesticide formulations centered on plant growth regulators, as well as the R&D, production, and sales of high-end water-soluble fertilizers. Currently, the company has a total of 338 pesticide product registration certificates (including 155 plant growth regulator registration certificates) and 134 fertilizer registration certificates. The company is the enterprise with the highest number of registered plant growth regulator varieties in China. By the end of 2025, the number of plant growth regulator registration certificates in China will be 2,170. Among them, 49 companies hold 10 or more (including 10) registration certificates, with a total of 899 registration certificates. The industry is characterized by small and dispersed enterprises, which is beneficial for the development of leading companies. Plant growth regulators are a product of the iterative upgrading of pesticide demand as agricultural development progresses. Traditional pesticides focus on pest, disease, and weed control to protect production and reduce losses, while modern agriculture has entered a new stage of improving quality and efficiency, with higher requirements for crop growth regulation, increasing yield under stress resistance, and quality improvement. Plant growth regulators achieve targeted regulation of crop growth and development, meeting new agricultural production needs for refined and efficient operations, and represent the inevitable result of the pesticide industry upgrading its functions from simply “disaster prevention” to “production regulation + safety assurance.” Their use has become one of the important measures in modern agriculture. With the continued decline of rural labor population, demand increases for large-scale, mechanized, and intensive operations of land, and plant growth regulators will become an important category of pesticides.
