So I was getting random calls the other day and got curious about checking who was actually calling me. Turns out there are legit ways to verify sim owner information online, especially if you're in Pakistan. Wish I'd known this sooner honestly.
Basically, you can use platforms like Freshsimownerdetails to look up unknown numbers - just enter the mobile number and it pulls up stuff like the owner's name, CNIC, and which carrier they're using (Ufone, Jazz, Zong, etc). Takes like a minute and you don't even need an account. Pretty straightforward if you ask me.
The telecom providers themselves have ways to check too. If you're a Jazz user, you can dial *444# and get info about numbers. Zong has their website portal, and Ufone lets you text 'info' to 666. All free options which is solid. Though honestly the dedicated sites seem to give you more detail about sim owner information than going through carrier portals.
Obviously there's the privacy thing to consider - you shouldn't be checking random people's details just for fun. It's generally legal if it's your own SIM or you have permission, but using it to mess with someone could get you in trouble. If you're dealing with actual harassment or fraud, you can hit up PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) or contact your provider's customer support directly.
The main thing is just use reputable services and don't be sketchy about it. I've found this super useful for identifying unknown callers without having to answer every random call that comes through.
