Eight provinces have fully implemented the spring and autumn holiday, with many regions emphasizing the implementation of supporting measures for parental leave.

After April 2026, as the Qingming Festival holiday approaches, the spring break that can be combined with it for consecutive days is about to be implemented in many regions. As of now, 8 provinces in China have announced the nationwide implementation of primary and secondary school spring and autumn holidays. Spring and autumn holidays refer to short breaks added in spring and autumn respectively, while ensuring that the total teaching hours for the year remain unchanged. As early as the last century, rural primary and secondary schools had a “busy farming holiday,” which was the predecessor of the spring and autumn holidays. Later, with the full implementation of the double rest system, it gradually phased out of history. In recent years, spring and autumn holidays have become a hot topic again, and many places have begun to explore their implementation one after another. (Jiemian News)
