The Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Li Lecheng, presided over the 14th SME Roundtable Meeting on March 19. Li Lecheng emphasized that entrepreneurs should cultivate a strong sense of patriotism and national responsibility, actively integrate enterprise development into national strategies, and focus on accelerating the development of new materials industries around the main battlefield of manufacturing. They should target urgently needed key materials and weak links in the industrial chain, take on heavy responsibilities, and demonstrate accountability to improve the autonomous supply level of key materials in critical fields.

They should strengthen innovation leadership, continuously increase R&D investment, actively participate in major national science and technology projects, enhance leading scientific and technological breakthroughs, and accelerate the production of more landmark original achievements.

Furthermore, they should strengthen forward-looking planning, keep a close eye on international scientific and technological advances, grasp the trends of new materials transformation, explore applications of artificial intelligence in material research, pilot testing, and production scenarios, and accelerate the creation and application of cutting-edge new materials to build new competitive advantages.
