Recently, I’ve been thinking about one of the most intriguing mysteries in the history of cryptocurrencies — who really is Dorian Nakamoto? It’s a question that still fascinates the entire Bitcoin community today.

The story began in 2014 when Newsweek published an article claiming they had found the creator of Bitcoin. They pointed to Dorian Nakamoto, a man born in Japan in 1949, who emigrated to the United States in the 1960s. He worked as a physicist in California, held libertarian views, and had knowledge of cryptography. On paper, everything matched.

But here’s where it gets interesting. Dorian Nakamoto immediately denied these claims. He argued that the article was false and had no connection to Bitcoin. His categorical denials quickly divided the community — some were convinced, others skeptical.

Interestingly, Dorian never fully responded to all questions. After the article, he disappeared from the media, neither confirming nor denying all suspicions. This silent stance only increased the mystery surrounding him.

Today, more than a decade later, his true identity and connection to Bitcoin remain unresolved. Or perhaps that’s what’s most fascinating — a mystery that will never be fully solved. Dorian Nakamoto’s story shows how important anonymity is in the world of cryptocurrencies and how many questions still await answers. Especially considering that Bitcoin’s value today reaches billions of dollars, knowing its creator would be of enormous significance.
