Market concerns about Middle East LNG supply disruptions, with some LNG vessel charter rates soaring to 300,000 US dollars/day

The global liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping market has recently heated up sharply. According to the latest LNG weekly report from shipbroker Fearnleys, the spot charter rate for a 174k cubic meter LNG carrier on the route from the Gulf of Mexico to Europe has risen to approximately $300k per day, up about $260k from last week. Fearnleys pointed out that due to market concerns over potential disruptions in Middle Eastern LNG supplies, charterers are rushing to secure shipping capacity. (Cailian Press)
