Abstract generation in progress

ME News Report, April 11 (UTC+8), cloud computing platform Modal announced the acquisition of AI agent startup Butter. Butter founder Erik Dunteman and researcher Raymond Tana will join the Modal Sandbox team. The Butter team specializes in intelligent agent engineering, focusing on computer operation agents, deterministic memory systems, and code generation. Its latest product, bVisor, is a virtual Linux kernel built from scratch using Zig language, designed specifically for lightweight, short-lived sandbox scenarios. This acquisition will directly enhance the capabilities of the Modal Sandbox product. Erik Dunteman has a deep connection with Modal—he co-founded the serverless GPU platform Banana, then briefly collaborated with Modal as a contractor before founding Butter. He stated that code generation is a key approach to solving core challenges in intelligent agent development, such as determinism, auditability, and fine-grained permission control, “No team is better suited than Modal to support this direction at the platform level.” (Source: BlockBeats)
