The ongoing Middle East conflict continues, and the impact on Japan’s automotive industry is steadily increasing. According to market service firm Kpler, Japan’s imports of petroleum products such as naphtha decreased by about 30% in March compared to the previous month. The Middle East is one of Japan’s important markets for automobiles. Due to disruptions in vehicle transportation, cars destined for the Middle Eastern market cannot be delivered, putting pressure on Japanese automakers’ production plans. Affected by delivery delays and order cancellations, many automakers have been forced to reduce or halt production of models exported to the Middle East. (CCTV News)
