Iraq announces that the airspace closure has been extended by another 72 hours

On March 31st local time, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement saying that, based on ongoing assessments of the current regional security situation, control measures for all arriving, departing, and transit flights in Iraqi airspace will be extended for another 72 hours until noon on April 3rd. Iraq’s current airspace closure measures were implemented after the United States and Israel launched a joint military strike against Iran on February 28th. Iran subsequently carried out missile and drone attacks on Israeli and U.S. targets in the Middle East, causing a sudden escalation in regional tensions. (CCTV News)
