🔥 Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister: The Strait of Hormuz is not closed; negotiations must be based on a ceasefire in Lebanon
According to UK ITV News, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister made a statement on April 9 regarding the Strait of Hormuz and peace negotiations. He denied that the strait was closed, stating it is open to all civilian ships, but ships passing through due to war remnants like sea mines need to contact Iranian authorities for safe navigation guidance; those who have communicated have been granted passage. The Iranian delegation will travel to Islamabad to participate in peace talks, provided that Israel ceases its attacks on Lebanon, and any regional peace agreement must include Lebanon. The deputy foreign minister revealed that Iran was on the verge of retaliatory action last night but ultimately chose restraint because the United States had called for a ceasefire in Israel. Currently, Iran is leaving room for negotiations, but a ceasefire in Lebanon is the ticket to entry. The situation in the next few hours will determine whether the talks can proceed as scheduled.
