Gate News reports that on April 8, U.S. Representative Rick Torres (Democrat) stated that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) should investigate the abnormal trading activities in the oil and stock futures markets shortly before former President Trump delayed a military strike against Iran last month. Torres said, "The speed, scale, and structure of the trades are highly suspicious, and the facts are clear. Both the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission cannot turn a blind eye." The congressman called for regulatory agencies to conduct a formal investigation into the trading in oil, energy, and stock futures markets in the few minutes before Trump's post on March 23, and to obtain trading records related to these accounts.
