Most domestic commodity futures closed higher on April 7, with ethylene glycol hitting the daily limit up.

On April 7, domestic commodity futures closed higher overall, with most benchmark contracts ending up; the chemical and energy materials sector led the gains. Ethylene glycol hit the daily limit up, up 11%; methanol and plastic rose more than 8%; polypropylene and plastic rose more than 7%; pure benzene and BR rubber rose more than 3%; containerized freight—Europe route, styrene, fuel oil, and short fiber rose more than 2%. On the downside, polycrystalline silicon fell more than 4%, jujube dropped nearly 4%, apples fell more than 3%, and caustic soda and live hogs fell nearly 3%.
