China News Service, Beijing, March 30 (Sun Yanping) Nanhai Zi Park in Beijing welcomed a batch of robot “gardeners.” The reporter learned today from the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (abbreviated as “Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area,” also known as “Beijing Yizhuang”). As one of the Robofuture event series activities, the Garden Water Services Intelligent Robot Exhibition and the Project Pitching Month campaign focuses on three application scenarios—landscaping and garden maintenance, water management, and interactive entertainment—bringing together more than 30 products from 18 companies across the country for centralized display of intelligent robot technologies and application scenarios in garden water services. A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area said that excellent products will receive procurement order support, promoting more garden water services robots to land and be applied, and providing a “Yizhuang solution” for ecological governance across the country.

Promoting robots into end-to-end operational scenarios

Moving the arena from the laboratory to real park scenarios, Beijing Yizhuang, driven by real needs, held this event. Through three formats—static exhibitions, on-site operational demonstrations, and project pitching—it provides an one-stop platform for technical exchanges, achievement showcases, supply-and-demand matching, and capital enablement for the industry.

A cleaning robot sweeps and cleans in the park; robot dogs patrol for inspection and stand watch at designated points; ecological patrol robots complete patrol, equipment inspections, biological monitoring, and other tasks through autonomous navigation and voice interaction; mowing robots work in an orderly way on the lawns. On the water surface, an uncrewed water-cleaning patrol boat cruises and collects garbage, while flying rescue life rings and underwater rescue detection boats can provide real-time protection for emergency rescue and response. In visitor rest and gathering areas, service robots provide intelligent reception and answer-the-questions guidance, while uncrewed vending vehicles offer sales services such as ice cream and beverages. Various robots—including AI water-saving robots, smart maintenance flower boxes that need no irrigation, and intelligent insect-condition誘测 and reporting devices—are applied and displayed in park scenarios.

The event is not only a showcase of technology, but also a “trial run” for orders. Among the 13 companies participating in this event, they introduced innovative breakthroughs in product solutions and prospects for application. An evaluation panel composed of experts in technology, the industry, and investment and financing gave on-site点评 and guidance, providing professional support such as optimization suggestions and demand matching for project landing and industrialization development. Meanwhile, companies will gain exposure opportunities in large-scale events in the Beijing Yizhuang area such as the Beijing Yizhuang humanoid robot half-marathon. After a one-month real-world application trial and use, they will expand and land projects in parks within the district.

This time, Boya Gongdao brought two innovative products to the exhibition. Among them, the single-trip garbage loading capacity of its intelligent cruising water-cleaning uncrewed boat reaches 50 kg, and its cleaning efficiency is over 15 mu per hour. It can enable 24/7 unmanned on-duty routine cleaning. Fu Yuhan, deputy general manager and operations director of the company, said that this exhibition setup has built a communication and matching platform, allowing more people to see the real value of intelligent uncrewed boats in improving water-area cleaning efficiency and ensuring operational safety.

Coolwa Technology brought two cleaning robots. Xu Xiaozhao, in charge of the Beijing-area operations at the company, said they use their self-developed “world model” brain to coordinate different pieces of equipment with different physical forms to work together. They hope that in real garden water services scenarios, they can demonstrate practical, out-of-the-box combat-ready capabilities. They also hope to meet more strategic partners in fields such as urban management, landscaping, and property management, and together deepen the “City Service AI general contracting” model, jointly accelerating the landing of “RoboCity (robot ecological city)” in Beijing.

“Garden water services robots are a strong, rigid demand from enterprise clients. 2026 will be the first year of the golden growth period in this sector. Current customer orders in the directions of garden robots and water services robots are relatively clear.” Cui Min, deputy general manager of investment at Muyu Venture Capital, said.

The activity hosted by the Economic-Technological Development Area is another important practice in building the robot industry ecosystem. Relying on the city construction plan of a whole-region artificial intelligence city, the Economic-Technological Development Area will in the future deploy robots in district parks such as Boya Park, Tongming Lake Park, and pocket parks, and also expand to Nanhai Zi Park in batches. It will focus on scenarios such as intelligent inspection, water-surface cleaning, landscaping maintenance, and companion services. It will build a unified dispatch and management platform, enabling robots to efficiently solve pain points in garden management and maintenance, and upgrading the experience of visiting parks through technology to empower the construction of smart city parks, creating a smart landscaping benchmark model that can be replicated and promoted.

Building a featured industrial path of “events + orders”

“We hope that through this event, we can realize ‘selecting the best by competition, promoting use through exhibitions, and promoting production through orders,’ and construct a complete chain of ‘technology validation—scenario adaptation—market conversion,’ so that excellent robot products can truly ‘win in competitions, be used in practice, and land on the ground.’” A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area said that this “events + orders” model is becoming a featured path for Beijing Yizhuang to cultivate new-quality productive forces.

It is understood that Beijing Yizhuang has already gathered more than 300 advantageous companies such as Zhitong Precision, Xinghai Tu, Yunj i, and Ben Mo Technology. It has laid out innovation platforms including the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, covering the entire industrial chain such as core components, complete machine manufacturing, system integration, and scenario solution offerings. It has formed an industrial ecosystem characterized by “leading enterprises guiding, small and medium enterprises cooperating, and innovation platforms providing support.”

Promote use through competitions, and promote production through use. Looking to the future, Beijing Yizhuang will continue to deepen the main line of “competition traction, scenario empowerment, and platform support.” In terms of the event system, it will continuously hold competitions and events such as the World Robot Conference and the Beijing Yizhuang humanoid robot half-marathon, improve the Robofuture event matrix, and continuously enhance industrial influence. In terms of scenario building, it will deeply implement the embodied intelligence social experiment plan, continuously release application demands in fields such as industrial manufacturing and home services, create a batch of high-value scenarios, and accelerate robots’ empowerment of all trades and industries. In terms of platform support, relying on leading enterprises, universities and research institutes, and innovation platforms, it will strengthen tackling key core technologies, solidify a data foundation, improve the standards system, and continuously enhance the industrial foundation capability and the modernization level of the industrial chain, providing support for the high-quality development of the robot industry.
