U.S. Vice President Vance said that if Iran fails to reach an agreement before that night’s final deadline, the United States could escalate its actions against Iran, even using “measures that have not yet been used.”

Vance said the United States has “the ability to inflict greater pain,” but emphasized that neither President Trump nor he “wants to go that far,” and that negotiations are currently being actively pursued. He said the U.S. expects to receive Iran’s response by 20:00 on the 7th U.S. Eastern Time (8:00 on the 8th Beijing Time), regardless of whether the outcome is positive or negative.

Vance warned that the United States still has “measures that have not yet been used.” If Iran does not cooperate, the U.S. does not rule out using these measures.
