Yemen’s government issued a statement on March 28 condemning Iran for dragging Yemen into a regional conflict through armed forces backed by it. The statement said that Iran, with the help of forces such as the Houthis, has intervened in regional affairs, undermining national sovereignty and threatening regional security. The Yemeni government believes that the related actions of the Houthis serve Iran’s regional strategy. The statement warned that such actions will intensify Yemen’s humanitarian crisis and disrupt food and energy supplies. The government emphasized that decisions on war and peace belong to the state, and that any illegal military action must bear consequences. The Yemeni government called on the public to refuse mobilization to join the fighting, and urged the international community to increase pressure on the Houthis, support the restoration of national authority, and achieve stability and development. Iran has not responded yet. (CCTV News)
