National Medical Products Administration Holds Work Promotion Meeting for Innovation and Cooperation Platform
On February 27, the National Medical Products Administration held a work progress meeting in Beijing for three innovation cooperation platforms—AI medical devices, biomaterials, and high-end medical equipment. The meeting heard work reports from the platform secretariat and comments and suggestions from member units, and studied and deployed additional measures to further encourage innovation in medical devices. Lei Ping, a Party group member and Deputy Director of the National Medical Products Administration, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The meeting noted that, under the leadership of the Center for Drug Evaluation and with active participation from all member units, the construction of the three platforms has achieved positive results. In the next step, it is necessary to, in conjunction with the rollout of the “Spring Rain Action” to promote the transformation of clinical innovation achievements in medical devices, improve the construction of a “government-industry-university-research-hospital” deep cooperation mechanism and a regulatory science system, promote coordinated linkages across upstream and downstream segments of the medical device industry chain, accelerate the implementation of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practice, and effectively safeguard the medical device needs of the people, thereby promoting high-quality development of the medical device industry.
