Pinglu Canal Project enters equipment commissioning phase starting today; full navigation expected this year.
Today (March 18), the Youth Hub, one of the three major shipping hubs of the Pinglu Canal, began dry single-shiplock single-gate testing and commissioning without water, marking the Pinglu Canal project entering the equipment commissioning stage. At the commissioning site, reporters saw the lock gate of the Youth Hub—weighing several hundred tons—complete smooth opening and closing in a dry, water-free environment under precise control by the hydraulic opening and closing machinery. Technical personnel simultaneously conducted step-by-step testing and action verification of the gate’s mechanical rotation system, hydraulic system, and electrical control system, ensuring smooth operation of all components. Yuan Guozhi, deputy general manager of Guangxi Pinglu Canal Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Pinglu Canal Group, said that the canal construction and management team, relying on a digital management platform, makes detailed records and analyzes every set of data during the commissioning process, strictly controls commissioning quality, and works to achieve zero defects in equipment installation and zero failures in commissioning operation, laying a solid foundation for subsequent water-based commissioning of the Youth Hub of the Pinglu Canal.
