On the 27th, Ali Bahreini, Iran’s permanent representative to the UN Office in Geneva, announced on social media that, at the request of the United Nations, Iran has decided to promote and further accelerate the safe passage of humanitarian cargo ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Bahreini said that this measure reflects Iran’s continued commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts and its pledge to ensure that essential aid is delivered to those in need without delay. The operational arrangements for implementation will be determined in due course together with the United Nations.
