This is a spectrum. If you don't have both: SKILL FIRST. If you already have the skill, start adding networking, so focus 100% on skill first. Once you have the skill, increase to 90% skill, 10% networking. Keep increasing until you reach a limit of 50%-50%. If it's above 50% or mostly networking, it's not ideal.
