Abstract generation in progress

According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, although the United States has repeatedly tried to get European allies to join in, for practical considerations such as security risks, domestic public sentiment, and international ethics, European countries including the UK, France, Germany, and Spain, as well as Belgium, have clearly stated “no,” refusing to get involved in the war with Iran. Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump has frequently issued criticism and accusations toward his European allies.

A Europe forced into reluctance and a U.S. that is becoming increasingly isolated have become the most straightforward depiction of the direction of current transatlantic relations.

Earlier, on April 1, in an interview with U.S. media, Whitaker, the U.S. permanent representative to NATO, said that President Trump is re-evaluating NATO’s value to the United States and questioning whether the alliance is still a “mutually beneficial relationship.”

Whitaker also said that France, Italy, and Spain recently refused to allow U.S. military aircraft to use their bases or airspace to carry out Iran-related military operations, highlighting the differences.

On April 1, British media published an interview article with Trump, saying that after NATO allies refused to help strike Iran, Trump is “seriously considering” having the United States withdraw from NATO.
