According to CoinDesk, Solana is collaborating with Project Eleven to test quantum-resistant signatures in advance of future quantum computing threats. However, early test results show a serious trade-off between security and speed: quantum-resistant signatures increase in size by up to 40 times, resulting in approximately a 90% decrease in network throughput, raising concerns about its scalability.
