March China's bulk commodity price index increased by 4% month-on-month

The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced today China’s broad commodity price index for March. Judging from the way the index has been trending, after the holiday period, companies’ production has been picking up steadily, market demand has been released fairly well, and the broad commodities market overall has continued an expansion trend, with the positive outlook further consolidated. In March, China’s broad commodity price index was 129.9 points; it rose 4% month over month and 14.5% year over year, both doing better than the same period last year. Among the 50 broad commodities closely monitored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, there were 38 whose prices rose month over month in March. Of these, diesel, methanol, and ethylene glycol led the gains, increasing by 30.5%, 30.4%, and 29.3%, respectively, compared with the previous month. (CCTV News)
