Heavy rainfall in Afghanistan has caused 28 deaths.

Afghanistan’s national disaster management agency said on the 30th that accidents triggered by heavy rainfall in the country have killed at least 28 people and injured 49.

In a statement on social media, the agency’s spokesperson, Yousuf Hamad, said that since the 26th, heavy rainfall has caused flash floods and landslides in 25 provinces, along with storm-related disasters. In addition to the casualties, 578 residential buildings and shops, more than 1,700 acres of farmland, and 93 kilometers of roads have been severely damaged, affecting 1,130 households.

A warning issued that day by Afghanistan’s meteorological department indicated that in the coming period, several provinces in the country will continue to experience heavy rainfall. (Xinhua News Agency)
