"Zero Basic, How to Quickly Set Up Your Own VPS"
This post is mainly aimed at beginners with zero experience who need to set up a VPS for circumvention or website deployment. It is only suitable for Mac. I haven't used Windows, but I guess it should be similar overall.
1. Preparation
1) Claude Pro/Max membership, Taobao Exchange, and Xian Exchange—everything you want. Costs $20/$100/$200.
2) Installed Clash or a client that supports the Hysteria2 protocol.
2. Installation
1) The entire process is guided step-by-step by Claude without any complicated steps. If you're a complete beginner and have no idea, make sure to tell Claude that you're a newbie and need step-by-step guidance.
2) Slight familiarity with Mac's Terminal (search for Terminal on your computer).
3) For the code during the process, just copy and paste it blindly. After the terminal finishes running, copy the output and give it to Claude for the next step.
4) When purchasing VPS services, clearly explain your needs so that AI can recommend for you, including Cloudflare registration, domain purchase, and VPS provider registration, selection, and payment.
Actually, the whole process is quite straightforward and doesn't require any tutorials. Under AI guidance, there's basically no technical complexity. The only thing you need to do is clearly describe your needs, prepare your credit card, and be ready to copy, paste, and take screenshots.
3. Precautions
One thing to note here is that when choosing VPS nodes, consider the geographical location and your purpose.
For example, if it's purely for circumvention, you can buy servers in Japan, Singapore, or nearby regions. If you want a US IP, buy in Los Angeles. The downside is that the location is far, and latency will be higher. If you want a cleaner outbound IP, you can set up Cloudflare WARP, and installing WARP on the VPS is also a solution.
Of course, there are more thorough methods, such as purchasing residential US IPs as outbound IPs, but they are more expensive. Nothing else. Also, I've observed that Claude banning accounts is really a matter of luck.
4. Personal Thoughts
I think in the AI era, computer tutorials are basically unnecessary. There's no need to waste time searching or asking for help. If you're a beginner, you still need to understand a little bit.
A simple $20 is enough to solve over 98% of your daily computer problems, but once you activate the MAX plan, there's basically no going back.
Fully embracing AI, most of your focus should be on refining your problems, perspectives, needs, and constraints. Everything else should be outsourced to AI.
