On April 4, The New York Times reported that two U.S. officials stated that on Friday, an Air Force combat aircraft crashed in the Persian Gulf region, and the sole pilot was safely rescued. The officials indicated that the A-10 fighter jet crashed near the Strait of Hormuz.
