He Lifeng meets with Canada's Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 3 (Reporter Cao Jiayue) On the afternoon of April 3, He Lifeng, the Chinese lead of the China-Canada Economic and Financial Strategic Dialogue, Vice Premier of the State Council, met in Beijing with Canada’s Minister of Finance and Pengfei Shang, the co-lead of the Canadian side in the dialogue.

He Lifeng said that both sides should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, deepen cooperation in areas such as economic and trade affairs and finance, and promote stable and healthy development of China-Canada economic relations.

Shang Pengfei said that Canada attaches great importance to its relationship with China and is willing to jointly with the Chinese side promote economic and financial cooperation in order to achieve more practical results.

The two sides agreed to hold the economic and financial strategic dialogue in the second half of this year.

He Lifeng and Shang Pengfei also jointly met with representatives of the China-Canada financial working group and the financial institutions roundtable, welcoming both sides’ financial institutions to conduct business in the other’s market. (End)
