A typo almost caused an over-issuance of 258.2 billion yuan! The Bank of Communications urgently issues a correction.

On March 30, Bank of Communications issued a correction announcement, saying that it disclosed the “Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. 2025 Annual Profit Distribution Plan Announcement” on March 27. Due to insufficient proofreading, the original announcement contained textual errors.

The correction announcement states that “Bank of Communications’ 2025 full-year cash dividend per share of 3.247 yuan (including tax)” should be corrected to “for 2025, cash dividend per each 10 shares of 3.247 yuan (including tax).”

Based on Bank of Communications’ total issued ordinary share capital of 88.364 billion shares as of December 31, 2025, if distributed at “3.247 yuan per share,” the total cash dividend would be 286.918 billion yuan; if distributed at “3.247 yuan per 10 shares,” the total cash dividend would be 28.692 billion yuan. The difference between the two amounts reaches approximately 258.2 billion yuan.
