Agora announces that starting April 3rd, Injective's stablecoin AUSD will cease issuance, and it can be redeemed on a 1:1 basis before September 28th.
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to official information, Agora announced that, starting April 3, 2026, it will gradually stop the issuance and support of AUSD on the Injective network. According to the latest update, as of today, Injective will no longer mint new AUSD, and holders of AUSD on that network will also no longer receive any rewards. However, users can still redeem AUSD by value on a 1:1 basis, and the redemption window will remain open until September 28, 2026. This adjustment applies only to the Injective network and does not affect AUSD operations on other chains.
Regarding the redemption process, Agora said its customers can complete the steps by connecting with account contacts. Users only need to send AUSD on Injective to the official channel; the platform will assist in converting it into AUSD on the chain specified by the user, or exchanging it for dollars and other supported stablecoins. The official statement emphasized that September 28, 2026 is the standard redemption cutoff date. After that, remaining assets can still be processed, but additional KYC verification steps and related fees may be required.
Agora noted that this decision is based on its periodic evaluation mechanism for multi-chain deployments, with considerations including actual usage, the health of the ecosystem, infrastructure costs, and other factors. After a comprehensive assessment, Agora decided to strategically reduce its AUSD business on the Injective network in order to optimize resource allocation and improve overall operational efficiency.
