People’s Finance News, April 2: On April 1, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, will chair an international meeting on the Strait of Hormuz this week to discuss plans to restore navigation through the strait. The meeting will involve 35 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and others, in addition to the UK. After the meeting, personnel from the UK’s military will also hold talks on how to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains open and secure after the fighting ends. Starmer said the UK is exploring “all available diplomatic channels” to push for the Strait of Hormuz to resume navigation. He said the best way to address rising cost of living is to push the situation to cool down and ensure the Strait of Hormuz is reopened. (CCTV News)
