Reporters learned today that the State Council Food Safety Office will this year speed up the improvement of the regulations and standards体系, promote a comprehensive revision of the Food Safety Law, and accelerate the formulation and revision of standards related to food safety, such as pre-made meals, detection of residues of veterinary and agricultural drugs, and cold-chain transportation, so that oversight has rules to follow and procedures to rely on. It will further improve cross-department consultation, joint inspections, and joint law enforcement mechanisms, and carry out regular special rectification efforts targeting key areas and key products such as campus food that strongly concerns the public, “ghost deliveries” from takeout services, and the misuse of food additives. It will continuously strengthen oversight of key links including the storage and transportation of edible agricultural products and food, online sales, and imported food, severely crack down on illegal and noncompliant conduct, and form a high-pressure posture of “strike immediately when there are signs, and punish severely without leniency.” For campus food safety, it will continue to deepen the construction of the “Internet+bright kitchen and visible controls” initiative, improve campus ingredient centralized procurement mechanisms, strengthen routine joint inspections, and prevent substandard ingredients from entering schools.
