I've been experimenting with breakfasts for a while, and honestly, green juice has become my favorite. It's not just a trend; there are real reasons why drinking green juice in the mornings changed my routine.
What attracts me the most is that in a single glass, I get a lot of vitamins and minerals without much hassle. When I blend spinach, kale, celery, and a green apple, I'm basically giving my body a significant dose of vitamins A and C that boost the immune system. Plus, these vegetables are rich in chlorophyll and polyphenols, which protect the cells.
The truth is, the main purpose of green juice is to give you natural energy from the very first moment. Unlike coffee, it wakes you up more gently. Being liquid, your body processes the nutrients much faster, and thanks to potassium and magnesium, it helps prevent fluid retention. You feel lighter as soon as you finish it.
An important detail I learned is that green juice is not the same as a smoothie. When extracting the juice, most of the fiber is removed, so it shouldn't replace your entire breakfast. Ideally, it should be accompanied by something solid that has protein to keep your energy stable for longer.
If you want to make one at home, here’s my favorite recipe that works perfectly. You need two cups of fresh spinach or kale, a large cucumber, two stalks of celery, a green apple, a small piece of ginger, and the juice of half a lemon. First, wash everything well, then cut into pieces, pass them gradually through the juicer, add the lemon to prevent oxidation, and you're done. Drink it freshly made to enjoy all the benefits.
After trying this several times, I can say that the main purpose of green juice is really to transform how you feel in the mornings. It’s totally worth incorporating into your routine.
