I still remember that Tuesday the 17th when strong storms arrived here in Buenos Aires. The SMN had issued a yellow alert, and honestly, it was not at all reassuring, especially because they talked about hail. I recall the warning saying that heavy rain, winds over 80 km/h, and a chance of small hail were coming. Some colleagues said it seemed more dramatic on social media than what actually happened afterward.

What impressed me the most was that they mentioned rainfall accumulation between 25 and 50 mm in a short period. The electrical activity was quite frequent, that’s for sure. After the afternoon storms, lighter showers came through, and finally, that cold front everyone was expecting arrived.

I always think about how Buenos Aires handles these events. There have been years when it snowed in Buenos Aires during similar situations, although it’s rare. At least this Tuesday gave us that temperature drop that the SMN had forecasted. For the following days, temperatures dropped quite a bit: lows of 13-14 degrees and highs around 25-26, much more pleasant than the heat earlier.

The week ended up being quite mild after all, nothing extreme. The weekend stayed with moderate values, and we wrapped up with typical late summer weather. These weather events always generate anticipation here, how did you experience it?
