SAIC Motor's first humanoid robot is deployed on the production line

On March 27, SAIC Motor’s first humanoid robot employee—“Nengzi No. 1”—was officially put to work on the Buick-to-Jing E7 battery cell mass production line, performing core processes such as picking up and feeding battery cells. This is SAIC Motor’s first real humanoid-robot case that has been deployed in a mass production line.

The humanoid robot was jointly developed by SAIC-GM and Unitree Robotics. It features human-like capabilities such as visual perception, dual-arm coordination, and force-controlled gripping. It can autonomously recognize incoming battery cells and intelligently plan gripping paths, without relying on fixed programming or the precise positioning of the incoming parts. (First Financial)
